December 5, Monday What a whirlwind of a day. The morning started at…GuLp…5:30 a.m. as I had to rise early to get down to McLaren Regional Medical Center for an all-day book signing, the hospital’s first ever, and it’s been open since 1918--I’m still trying to convince my daughter that I was NOT at the opening ceremonies. Then, I had to be at my Toastmasters meeting at 7:00 pm; I was the general evaluator for the evening, so I HAD to be there, but MAN was I tired. The morning started nicely as I got to McLaren and had everything set up. |

November 22, Tuesday What a day--what a Flaminpit Day. Today, I had the pleasure of being a guest on www.flinttalkradio.com's Flaminpit Showw/Lesa Quade--my first tv-type appearance of many to come. (STILL waiting on Ellento get back to me. My daughter tells me to email her EVERY week until she responds. haha) During the pre-event hype, I kept saying how funny Lesa is. And, never to disappoint, she was hilarous. It was, absolutely,a great time. In fact, I'd love to do it again. She kept talking about wanting me to wear a Padman costume. |

November 17, Thursday So, the speech is ready to go. I think I've got it worked out where it's good to go whereever I go with a few minor alterations at each place I speak. I was worried, thinking I'd have to make a new speech for each place I do speak. However, it was explained to me, when people go to a concert, are they expecting NEW music? No, it's the same music they hear on the CD or radio. However, just hearing it live makes itmoreenjoyable. Depending on audience participation/interaction, I'm positive it will be under 30 minutes, which means I will have met my goal of 20-30 minutes. |

November 16, Wednesday We could call today, simplySpeech Day. Not being in a big rush, I've tweaked and tweaked my presentation for Saturday at Pages Bookstore over the past two or three weeks. Of course there's a lot of things I want to include, but I WANT it to be around 25 minutes. I know what it's like to be in an audience, and I don't want to lose concentration/attention. Therefore, I have it down. In person, it should be anywhere from 20-30 minutes, depending on audience interaction/feedback and adlibbing. |

Top 6 reasons why my 1st-ever book signing at Bendle's homecoming was so special to me: 6. Asking Jessica Knowles Dean's son, Liam, how old he was. After he showed me five fingers, I asked him if he was in school. His reply: NO! I go to kindergarten. :) 5. Seeing the amazing Sandra Frasier and her daughter, Sam "Don't-call-me-Samantha," argue about who'll read Padman first. Then, giving Sam her own copy so she could take it to school. 4. Receiving a "group hug" from Dianna Stroud's daughters, Brit and Bri. |
